Friend, Mentor & Leader
The members of Civil Society Unmuted Coalition South Africa (CSUCSA) extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ms Mankone Ntsaba, an extraordinary friend, mentor and leader whose unwavering commitment to justice, development and social transformation has left an indelible mark on our nation.
Ms Mankone Ntsaba has served on the Board of Kagiso Trust since 2009 and has previously held the positions of Deputy Chairperson of the Board, Chairperson of the Programmes Committee, and Chairperson of Kagiso Trust. She has also served as a member of the Boards of Kagiso Tiso Holdings (KTH), Kagiso Africa Investments (KAI), and the Advisory Board of the Kagiso Shanduka Trust (KST).
Her calm, humble and inclusive leadership has guided civil society and made an immeasurable contribution to South Africa throughout her tenure at Kagiso Trust. During periods marked by global conflict, a pandemic and political uncertainty, her wisdom, integrity and steady counsel reminded us of the importance of collective action, independent thinking, principled leadership and moral courage in the service of our communities.
CSUCSA is especially grateful for Ms Mankone Ntsaba's invaluable contribution and unwavering support towards the establishment of the Civil Society Unmuted Coalition South Africa. She believed in the vision of the Coalition from its formative stages, entrusted the leadership team with the responsibility of building a strong, united and independent civil society platform, and continuously encouraged us to remain committed to the values of democracy, accountability, good governance and social justice.
Her confidence in CSUCSA strengthened our resolve to build a credible, representative and impactful coalition that amplifies the voices of civil society across South Africa. We remain deeply appreciative of her guidance, encouragement and belief in our collective vision.
As she concludes this remarkable chapter of service, we celebrate not only her outstanding leadership but also the legacy she leaves behind—a legacy founded on humility, integrity, compassion, visionary leadership and selfless service. Her influence will continue to inspire present and future generations of civil society leaders.
